Abstract :
We have demonstrated for the first time a resonant optical reflector having a reflection resonance less than 2 Å wide. This reflection is formed in a waveguide weakly coupled side by side to a quarter wave shifted Bragg resonator. We also present an experimental and theoretical study of the transmission spectra of such a resonator. In all cases, the experimental spectra are in good agreement with calculations. This analysis is consistent with a resonator waveguide loss of about 1 dB/cm.
