Abstract :
It is suggested that monolithic (oxidised from one side only or single phase) internally oxidized Ag/CdO contact material holds the promise to become one of the most popular contact material for medium-duty applications. Recent process developments have reduced manufacturing cost and improved reliability and performance of the material in electrical contact applications. A number of process parameters that have to be controlled to achieve the desired metallurgical and physical properties of the material, and the novel processes which allows this control, are described
