Abstract :
Different from traditional power allocation schemes in distributed antenna systems, a novel power allocation algorithm aiming at maximizing energy efficiency (EE) with low-complexity is presented in this letter. The optimization process is divided into two steps, the first step is to find the optimal number of antennas corresponding to any fixed total dynamic power constraints. The second step is to select the optimal antenna with the greatest signal attenuation. Compared with traditional EE maximization power allocation methods, the computation complexity is greatly reduced while the EE performance is maintained. Simulation results confirm that the proposed low-complexity algorithm has barely performance degradation compared with exhaustive search.
