Abstract :
This paper relates the historical development of electric and gasoline vehicles and compares the relative advantages and disadvantages of each. The paper also describes how the rapid technological advances in gasoline-fueled automobiles, from the introduction of the first Ford Model T in 1908, resulted in the eventual decline in the popularity of electric vehicles in 1914.
