Abstract :
We now see an increasing need and opportunity to create interfaces between the physical world of sensors and actuators and the software world of enterprise systems. To eliminate much of the complexity and cost associated with integrating devices into highly distributed enterprise systems, we propose leveraging existing and emerging standards from both the embedded-device and IT domains within a service-oriented device architecture (SODA)
