Abstract :
A conventional isolation-type balance-to-unbalance transformer (balun transformer) is analyzed, and a very-wide-band balun transformer is developed by compensating the former transformer. A design chart for characteristic impedance calculations is given. An experimental example of a very-wide-band transformer is shown. These results are also useful for the design of transformers as parts for microelectronic circuits
