Abstract
An upper limit of between 25 and 35 ps has been determined for the relaxation time of the Eastman 9740 bleachable-dye
-switch solution. The measurement was made by determining the time dependence of the transmission of the dye cell inside a mode-locked Nd:glass laser, using a delayed, attenuated pulse from the same laser as a probe.
