Abstract
The authors present a range of generating capacity adequacy studies for a small educational reliability test system, RBTS, based on Monte Carlo simulation. They briefly illustrate the increasing importance and utilization of Monte Carlo simulation in power system reliability evaluation and its used in teaching the basic concepts. The emphasis is on its utilization in generating capacity reliability evaluation. The results were obtained using the simulation program developed by the power systems research group at the University of Saskatchewan
