Abstract
The book explains the technology, services, and applications supported by satellite InSAR data communications. The book is organized into six chapters, focusing on: the historical background on InSAR; satellite radar imaging; SAR interferometry; Multi-interferogram techniques; and oil/gas applications. Owing to the target application of the book, i.e. reservoir monitoring, a few topics are only mentioned cursorily or are missing, e.g. the use of numerical weather data for compensation of the stratified atmosphere, urban applications using very high resolution SAR data or SAR tomographic methods that allow the separation of lay-overed scatterers. Aside from these minor points the entire InSAR tutorial is comprehensive. This book has the potential to receive broad acceptance with geophysicists, geodesists, civil engineers and decision makers and will help further establish InSAR as a mature technology-one of the author´s goals.
