Abstract
Ideal nonlinear optical switching can be approached by placing a number of ´parasitic´ cores in parallel with the original twin-core coupler. Significant improvement occurs with the addition of only one ´parasitic´ core, requiring an increase in length of 40% that of the twin-core coupler.
