Abstract :
There are two opposite opinions on the particular question whether or not the bilateral energy bounds can be established in eddy-current problems. The paper is a contribution to this discussion. The authors will show that with the variational process previously proposed, the constraints imposed on the variations of the field quantities generally cannot be applied in the numerical calculations. The authors also try to give a possible explanation for the phenomenon of ´complementarity´ between the energy results obtained by H-oriented and by E-oriented formulations.<>
