The reasons for the EC Directive on electromagnetic compatibility are outlined. The UK approach to implementation is described. The content of parts 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the UK regulations is examined. Likely future changes to the Directive and its implementation in the UK are outlined and the content of the EC explanatory document is summarised
