Abstract :
A recently upgraded laboratory is described for measurement of ultra-wideband (1-20 GHz) impulse scattering responses from scale model radar targets. A linear systems model is introduced, leading to new measurement concepts and signal processing algorithms for estimating the target´s scattering response to a user-defined impulse waveform. The experimental and processing procedures serve to eliminate clutter and antenna coupling, while compensating for antenna characteristics in the system. Experimental validations are examined and planned enhancements are discussed
