Abstract
A high frequency method for calculating the contribution to the monostatic RCS due to the interaction between edges and plane facets of a complex body is presented. The approach is based on combination of the equivalent currents method (ECM) and geometrical optics (GO). The method has been implemented in a general purpose code to calculate the RCS of complex targets represented by an edge-facet model. Ray-tracing criteria are developed in order to improve the efficiency of the method when complex targets are being analyzed. There is good agreement between the present results and those obtained with other methods and from measurements, which demonstrates the accuracy of this method
