European chip technology to use IOT in bid to recapture ground

Solving problems with power consumption in Internet of Things (IoT) products such as smartwatches could pull Europe out of chipmaking???s slow lane. A growing band of companies have decided to move away from mainstream process technologies and opt for a speciality process developed by French research institute CEALeti and nearby silicon supplier STMicroelectronics.
