Abstract :
Formulas are derived for synthetic aperture radar range and cross-range resolution without restrictions on percentage bandwidth or integration angle. Restriction to rectangular apertures allows efficient FFT processing and weighting for sidelobe control. The optimum square aperture (equal resolution) and rectangular aperture (minimum resolution area) are derived
