Abstract
Proposes a novel method for the design of a 2-D FIR filter possessing a purely imaginary frequency response involving the McClellan transformation and the transformation method proposed by Y.L. Tai and T.P. Lin (1989). The McClellan transformation can be used only for the design of symmetric 2-D FIR filters. The proposed method can be used not only for the design of 2-D FIR filters possessing a purely imaginary frequency response, but also for the design of symmetric 2-D FIR filters (possessing a purely real frequency response) with the same structures that are proposed for the McClellan transformation method with some modifications
