Abstract
A simple method to calculate the input impedance of a printed monopole situated above a reflecting plane is presented. The originality of this method comes from the association of the transmission line model applied to printed dipole antennas, and the Babinet principle. Printed monopoles of different size and substrate have been tested. The calculated results are validated by experiment.
