Abstract :
A novel segmented electrode structure for integrated optical E-field sensors is proposed, which is well suited for full integration of a short dipole antenna and an electro-optical modulator. Simple theoretical considerations predict sensitivity improvements compared to conventional electrodes in the range 10-20 dB, which are verified experimentally.
