Abstract
This book is a collection of 28 digital signal processing (DSP) tricks (chapters) that the book´s editor managed to glean, finagle, or coerce from a very talented group of practicing engineers. The book is organized into five sections covering efficient digital filters, signal and spectrum analysis tricks, fast function approximation algorithms, signal generation techniques and assorted high-performance DSP techniques. Almost all the ideas seem to originate from the need to solve a problem for a given application with practical constraints. The book presents a much needed coherency in style while preserving each author´s point of view. A companion CD or Web page would be desirable, but this softcover book is quite valuable to the practicing engineer, who will likely frequently reference it.
