  • Abstract
Superconducting generators offer many advantages. A prominent one is to improve stability of electric power systems. This inherent advantage is further enhanced by performing quick-response excitation control. Characteristic design of a superconducting generator with quick-response excitation includes the adoption of high voltage and low AC loss field winding, high strength and high electric resistance winding support shaft, and a single damper system. We developed elemental technologies for these technical tasks, and founded the base for establishing quick-response superconducting generators
