Abstract :
This paper analyzes the design and construction of the first magnet built in Spain; a 9 T Solenoid for Quantum Hall Effect Measurements. Special importance is given to the mechanical model of the coil to evaluate the effects of Lorentz forces, thermal contraction and winding tension. Results from partial tests are presented as well as training tests of the coil which showed a good behaviour
