Abstract
The effects of wavelength on the attenuation and propagation constant of TE and TM modes in He+ implanted optical waveguides in LiNbO3 are presented. It is shown that the TM mode properties are determined by the ion damage profile, while the TE mode properties are considerably influenced by lithium loss which occurs during implantation.
