  • Abstract
The acceleration characteristics are very important for the interior ballistics analysis of electromagnetic induction coilgun (EMICG). In order to analyze the acceleration characteristics of launching package in the EMICG, a simulation model of a 60mm caliber EMICG was built based on finite element method and the acceleration characteristics of the launching package were got by simulation. After that an experiment device of the 60mm caliber EMICG was designed and the corresponding measurement system was built, and then the launching experiments were taken and the accelerated speed of launching package was measured by sensors. The experiment results show that as the increasing of the charge voltage of capacitors in the EMICG, the peak value of the acceleration will grow accordingly, which is consistent with the results of theorem analysis. Furthermore, when the charge voltage is 6000V, the peak value of the acceleration is about 6000 times of the gravity acceleration. The research result is very important for the design and performance analysis of the EMICG.
