Abstract :
A multipurpose three-phase four-wire active power conditioner with a proposed control system is presented. It compensates for all unwanted components in the load current. It can also regulate the load terminal voltage. An extended three-phase form of the 3D current co-ordinate system power concept is exploited to estimate the reference currents. A three-layer feedforward neural network is employed for the conditioner current control. The power circuit design as well as hardware implementation outlines are addressed. Simulation results demonstrate the validity and the supremacy of the presented approach under steady-state and transient conditions.
