Abstract :
The paper presents network models that are used in the analysis and design of electromagnetic actuators. The attention is focused on the magnetic networks. Both permeance and reluctance networks are analyzed. The presented network models are formed using the finite element methods. The interpolating functions of edge and facet finite element are applied in the calculations of branch permeances and reluctances. The methods of winding description in the finite element space are discussed to define the field sources in the network models. The electric network models of the eddy current regions are also considered. Movement simulation techniques in the FE analysis of electromechanical transients are discussed. The relationships that describe the interconnections between the magnetic networks and the electric networks/circuits are presented.
