Abstract :
This book is divided into two subject areas. The first seven chapters discuss materials science, whereas the last seven chapters discuss biological response. The characterization and regulatory issues are included throughout the book as appropriate. This is an excellent book for students in the biomedical engineering curriculum and also an excellent reference for practicing engineers, providing explanation of many intricacies of biomaterials and sufficient background material to make the subject understandable.
