Abstract
A new microwave resonator technique of permittivity measurement of a liquid sample is proposed. The technique is based on the use of a Vertically Stacked Ring Resonator filled with dielectric in between them. The proposed design will improve the sensitivity of single ring resonator in terms of Q-factor and in turn increase the measuring sensitivity. Experimental data is testified against the related theory and compared with the results obtained by other researchers. Full wave simulation Software Ansoft HFSS 11 is used for optimization of the resonator. The measurement with this system indicates high potential for development of portable technique for liquid petroleum quality analysis.
