Abstract
Using two Pockels cells, a single-picosecond-duration light pulse generated by a mode-locked Nd:glass laser was time synchronized with a 50-100-ns-duration
-switched ruby-laser pulse. The picosecond pulse was reliably placed in the early part of the rise of the
-switched pulse, and could be delayed to any later time.
