Abstract :
Telecom network traffic is continuing to experience rapid growth driven by bandwidth-intensive content. MPLS TE network virtualization is commonly used by network operators to manage network performance. By overviewing the TE algorithms and QoE measurements, it can be noticed that QoS degradation is not treated adequately. Here a class based tunnel exclusion (CBTE) mechanism is proposed to reroute sensitive traffic in real time. The idea is to upgrade the MPLS router architecture to make it capable of selecting an optimal virtual network path based on the knowledge about the required network performance for every traffic class. In this paper an extension to router architecture is proposed. Early simulation results verify the proposed concept.
