  • Abstract
    A construction and implementation of algebraic-geometric codes for use over urban single-input-single-output (SISO) channels are presented. Algebraic-geometric codes have much longer code lengths than Reed Solomon codes as well as more choice of codes for an acceptable decoder complexity. New simulation results are compared with Reed Solomon codes, showing the performance advantage of algebraic-geometric codes, particularly over fading channels.
