Abstract :
For pt.I see ibid., vol.6, no.3, p.111 (1992). The authors discuss the diverse applications of curtain electron beam processors capable of delivering beam currents of as much as 1000 mA at accelerating voltages of up to 300 kV. The main applications are: radiation curing (Radcure); crosslinking/vulcanisation; sterilisation; and power station flue-gas cleaning. In particular, the radiation curing application is very broad and includes the curing of many different coatings, inks, fillers, resins and adhesives for many different purposes. The advantages of electron beam technology over thermal and UV curing are discussed. The authors then describe use of electron beams in the applications mentioned
