Abstract :
Work-based accidents are decreasing in engineering and manufacturing companies that have implemented lean techniques. This is the finding of the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-funded "trouble-shooter" that has seen fewer accidents and improved levels of health and safety in companies with standardised operations.
