  • Abstract
The Russian Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) identifies that engineering systems, everything around us, develops according to specific patterns; laws of evolution. These patterns are independent of their inventors. This idea implies that, since 98% of all new problems can be solved by previous experience, the huge effort that goes into ´trial and error´ innovation is needless. If one learns the rules one can hasten a product or system further along the evolutionary path its destiny has already mapped out for it.
