Abstract :
An over two octaves wideband rectangular coaxial line fed log-periodic antenna is introduced. The feed line configuration consists of a three-step quarter-wave impedance transformer designed for matching 160 ?? nominal antenna impedance to 50 ??. The transformer (feeder) is monolithically integrated with the antenna by a sequential surface micromachining process known as PolyStrata . Measurements and simulations have shown a VSWR < 2:1 from X- through Q-band.
