Abstract :
The Augurs (Assistant for Using Graphic Symbols) program embeds a neural network for symbol recognition in a commercial CAD system (the US Army Corps of Engineers´ MicroStation). The goals are to accelerate the drawing process, maintain drawing consistency, and, most importantly, attach symbolic information to graphic entities so they can be analyzed and communicated across platforms.<>
