Abstract :
A distributed local control system which is easily integrated in an already existing telecontrol network and provides new features to the overall system is described. The system is a Local Area Network with a hierarchically structured tree topology. It can be connected by a Packet-Switching-Network or by dedicated links to several Control Centers, to other RTU´s, to Teletex Terminals and to special purpose Maintenance Terminals provided by the system. These features allow for flexible management of the overall information generated by the Power System, and a large cost reduction in the wiring of the stations.
