Abstract :
A report is presented of a novel side-coupling method of high-power single stripe diode lasers into double-clad fibres. Grating design considerations and experimental results with high coupling efficiencies are presented. The scalability of this method is shown by incoherent superposition of several pump diodes in a fibre laser.
