Abstract
The corona performance of a 4 à 3.56-cm conductor bundle to be used on a ± 450-kV transmission line was studied on the test line at IREQ. In a first stage, the influence of conductor height on the corona performance, mainly the electric field and ion current density at ground level, was investigated. In a second stage, the long-term performance of the final line configuration, selected partly on the basis of the results of the first stage, was studied over a one-year period. A statistical analysis of the results obtained from the long-term tests is described.
