Abstract :
Since the days of Newton, leading scientists and engineers have been attracted to the world of the paranormal: the fascination - and the controversy - continue. This article gives an overview of the paranormal, and in particular the beliefs and experiments of various scientists and engineers throughout history who believed in its existence. Electromagnetic propagation and brainwaves are mentioned. It concludes with comments on the current views held by the scientific community.
