Abstract
A detailed comparison of four types of electrode structures for HF laser action was made. The HF was produced by transverse discharges through SF6 /RH mixtures. The pulse energy, pulse duration, and spectroscopic output were measured as a function of the type of hydrogen donor, its partial pressure as well as the total pressure when He was added. The hydrogen donors used were H2 , CH4 , C2 H6 , C3 H8 , and commercial gasoline.
