Abstract :
Errors of a time-division active power converter under sinusoidal and nonsinusoidal conditions are calculated by computer simulation and measured experimentally. The paper shows that if the sampling frequency is not synchronized with the input signal frequency then systematic errors of this converter, due to its principle of operation, are negligible. The experimental results demonstrate that a converter built for sinusoidal operation only can exhibit large errors, when operating under nonsinusoidal conditions.
