Abstract
The deliberate simplification of theory in system dynamics (SD) methods, and the conventions of DYNAMO are the main reasons for apparent obscurities in SD. Memory, solution interval, and delay processes all have analogies outside SD which can be fruitfully studied. Overemphasis on relating dynamics to apparent loop polarity can itself be couterintuitive.
