Abstract
The total path attenuation at 11.6 GHz measured at Suva, Fiji (Lat.: 18.08°S, Long.: 178.3°E) for one year (April 02-March 03) is presented. It shows logarithmic function with ground rain-rate and saturates at very high rain-rate. A rain-rate of 40 mm/h at this station causes the Ku-band attenuation threshold (>7 dB) to be exceeded. Maximum exceedences for both attenuation and rain-rate at the station were observed during the wet months (November-April).
