Abstract :
The Nigara river, although only 56 km long, is now one of the world´s major sources of hydroelectric power. Today, the river is the driving force for 2280 MW from a number of plants on the Canadian side and 2190 MW on the US side. The author describes the hydroelectric power stations, past and present, that get their power from this river
