Abstract :
Alloys of ErFe10.5-xCoxMo1.5 formula have been studied by powder X-ray and neutron diffraction, zero-field magnetic susceptibility and magnetization in fields up to 8 T. The saturation magnetization has been deduced. The Curie temperature has a maximum for x=7. The phase diagram deduced from the measurements shows a zone with planar anisotropy at low temperatures in practically the whole series. Both sides rich in Fe or Co show axial anisotropy at high temperatures and a conical phase exists for intermediate concentrations
