Abstract :
The influence of direct (Jd) and alternating (Ja ) core-currents on the magnetization has been considered. A simple model of a ribbon consisting of two domains separated with π-domain wall is used in order to explain the effects of core-currents on the M-H loop. The variations of the coercive field H, with the field Hp induced by Jd and Ja have been calculated The achievement of Hc=0 at sufficiently large Hp is predicted both for Jd and Ja. The experiments performed on amorphous Co70.3Fe4.7Si15B10 ribbon yield Hc=0 for sufficiently large Ja but not for J d. This discrepancy for Jd can be explained in terms of the more complex domain structure of the actual ribbon
