Abstract :
The mean-field analysis of the antiferromagnetic planar (XY) model on square lattice with the nearest- and second-nearest neighbour interaction without and under magnetic field is carried out. A number of phase transitions are observed, both of the first- and second-order and also multicritical points are present in the system
