Abstract :
In this paper, we present a transient analysis model for the dielectric breakdown, and analyze the dielectric discharge phenomenon by using the finite element method. Moreover, in this analysis, we take into account the property of the volume resistivity which depends on the electric field strength. As an example, the relationship between the analyzed results and the fractal dimension under some conditions is investigated. It is shown that our method is applicable to the discharge phenomenon
