Abstract
A new method is presented to solve transient electromagnetic fields in complex geometrical configurations. The method solves Maxwell´s equations adopting the leap-frog scheme. Vector finite elements are introduced to approximate the curl operators of the electric and magnetic fields. The solution scheme of resulting equations system is explicit and does not require the solution of any matrix equation
